PROTOTYPING AND PRODUCTION
1. QUALITY POLICY STATEMENT
At The London Leather Workshop, we take pride in delivering exceptional quality and craftsmanship with every project. Our commitment to high standards and dedication to each client’s needs help foster lasting relationships and mutual success.
We prioritise clear communication and approach every project with care, passion, and attention to detail. As a small artisan workshop, each item is handmade, making every piece unique. Slight variations are inherent to handmade goods and contribute to their charm and individuality.
By choosing us, you embrace the artistry of bespoke craftsmanship, where every item is made with precision and care—not mass production. Experience the difference in truly handmade leather goods, where quality and detail come first.
2. LEAD TIMES
Lead times may vary depending on the quantity, complexity, and our current workload. The timelines below are general estimates and will be confirmed once the service is booked.
2.1 Production
We typically start production within 4 to 8 weeks of deposit payment, assuming all required materials have been received within the agreed timeframe. Production time depends on the size and complexity of the order and will be confirmed after full assessment of your project. Production completion can only be confirmed after the deposit has been paid, all materials have been delivered to us, and all aspects of the project have been agreed upon.
Please note: We work on multiple items simultaneously in structured steps to optimise time and offer competitive pricing. Individual items cannot be completed mid-production unless agreed in writing. If you require phased deliveries, please notify us at the outset, as this may impact both cost and production methods.
2.2 Prototyping
Prototyping is usually completed within 3 to 6 weeks of deposit payment, provided all materials are received on time. Final timelines will be confirmed upon payment.
2.3 Product Development, Design, Consultancy, and Private Tuition
We generally begin these services within 2 to 6 weeks of receiving the deposit. A start and completion date will be confirmed only when:
1 – The deposit is received.
2 – All project details are clarified and agreed.
3 – All materials (if applicable) have reached our studio.
3. DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT TERMS
We accept payments via:
1 – Cash
2 – Bank transfer
3 – Credit or debit card payments (Visa, VPay, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express)
4 – PayPal
5 – Stripe payments
Card payments can be made in person at our workshop. We do not accept payments over the phone or by cheque.
3.1 Prototyping and Production
A 50% deposit is required upfront, with the remaining 50% due before delivery or collection. For phased deliveries, each batch must be paid for in full prior to its release.
If paying the balance via bank transfer, please allow at least 48 hours for the payment to clear before arranging collection or delivery.
3.2 Face-to-Face Tuition and Consultations
Full payment is required upfront.
3.3 Online or Remote Services
Full payment is required upfront.
3.4 Materials
Materials must be paid for in full upfront.
4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1 – We do not commence any work until the deposit has been received.
2 – We do not deliver completed work until the full balance has been paid.
3 – Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we will not begin work until all required materials and clear instructions have been provided.
4 – If the deposit is not paid within 48 hours of receiving the invoice, we will assume the project is not proceeding.
5. CONFIDENTIALITY AND NON-DISCLOSURE
